Yes, we work 100% remotely. SparkFabrik employees live all over Italy and also abroad (Europe) and work from home. We have offices in Milan, Via Fara 9, open to everyone for any need, but presence in the office is not mandatory. It is our private space for events, and meetings that require us to be there physically or just for the pleasure of spending the working day together! :)
In this regard, we are happy to meet in person on the first day of work, shake hands, hand over devices and carry out a more efficient and lighter onboarding.
The official working hours are from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm but there is a lot of flexibility. Individual teams, and the people within them, enjoy organisational autonomy in this respect, as long as they are present (on a standard working day) during the core hours: 10:30 am - 4:30pm.
We use a time tracking tool to track the hours and tasks we work on daily. There is no need to track immediately (although it helps), the important thing is that at the end of each week, the information is complete and correct. Tracking is for reporting, not for control purposes.

SparkFabrik is evolving, together with the way performance is evaluated. At the moment, there is a minimum of two 1-on-1s per year, every six months, at which you will be able to assess your performance with the help of the Impact Assessment, a model we created to focus on substance and not numbers. It is important for us to work to produce quality and innovation, not to jump the bar. That is why performance appraisal is an opportunity for dialogue on the impacts of one’s work, rather than a time to compile a report card of grades and judgements.
We hire on a permanent basis, with CCNL of Commerce, level appropriate to skills and responsibilities. We can offer apprenticeship contracts to first-time juniors who still need to develop basic professionalism, but in whom we recognise talent and autonomy. We do not work with on-call contractors. We are open to collaborations on a VAT basis, if preferred by the candidate, only if they are continuous and even better if with a view to rapid recruitment.

The answer is both yes and no.
We prefer to say that we do our best to work agile. We are familiar with the value of frameworks and methodologies, especially Scrum and Kanban with which we have extensive experience and expertise, but for us, agility (like DevOps, like being cloud-native)is a mindset, not a codified process.
Ultimately, yes: we call ourselves a very agile company. Not by virtue of issue boards or morning updates, but by virtue of transparency, adaptability, the courage to experiment and openness to feedback, even critical feedback.
We work with organisations, including international ones, ranging from medium-sized to enterprise, in different fields and sectors: pharmaceuticals, plumbing, tourism, school and newspaper publishing, universities and occasionally public administration.
We mainly take on large-scale projects, which commit a team for four months or more. In some cases, we work on a large set of smaller projects for the same client, but which together, however, total a medium- to long-term commitment.
The turnover of our clients is very low and we often work on several areas and projects over the years, accompanying the development of their digital business.
